Aflac or American Family Life Assurance Company, Inc. was originally
founded in 1955 by three brothers namely John, Paul and Bill Amos in
Columbus, Georgia.
This business has operations in the US and
Japan promoting and selling supplemental health and life insurance.
Aflac pioneered the cancer insurance and 1958 and 6 years later would
begin concentrating sales on the working environment. By 2003, most of
its policy holders were from the working class. Rhe policies were
issued based on salary or payroll deductions.
What sets AFLAC
Inc. from other insurance company is the adoption of the AFLAC name as
compared with most insurance companies that use family as part of their
company name. And also in 2005, AFLAC modified its logo by including an
image of a duck. This new logo would be used prominently in its
advertising and would come to be known as the AFLAC duck.
Today
the company offers several insurance products in the US and Japan
namely: accident/disability, cancer, intensive care, short term
disability, long term care, hospital care, sickness and hospital
confinement indemnity, specified health event, fixed-benefit dental,
vision, term life, whole life, juvenile life as well as unreimbursed
medical care.
